Agricultural Business Management & Whole Farm Planning
Newport, NH · Sullivan County
For 25+ years, Seth has helped New Hampshire farmers strengthen the business side of their operations — whole farm planning, nutrient management, financial health, and navigating the regulations that come with running a farm.
Seth joined UNH Cooperative Extension in August 2000 as an Extension Field Specialist in Agricultural Business Management, based in Sullivan County. Earlier in his career he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal, West Africa from 1993 to 1995, teaching farmers crop yield and soil fertility techniques. He holds a B.S. in Soil Science from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in Soil Science and Agronomy from the University of Wisconsin.
He has been a certified Holistic Management educator since 2005, working with producers on whole farm planning and the financial health of their agricultural businesses. Seth serves on the Sullivan County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, statewide NH Farm Bureau committees, and the Full Circle Farm Therapeutic Horsemanship Board of Directors. He also hosts UNH Extension's Shared Soil Podcast, covering the people and ideas shaping New Hampshire agriculture.
Free consultations through Seth's role as a UNH Cooperative Extension Field Specialist, covering whole farm planning, nutrient management, and general farm business questions.
For roughly six months each year, Seth also offers independent, paid consulting services directly to farmers, outside of his UNH Extension role.
Independent consulting services are provided by Seth Wilner personally and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or performed on behalf of UNH Cooperative Extension. Billing for these appointments is handled directly with Seth.
